These terms govern your use of Retracer, an online learning platform operated from Mumbai, India. By using the site you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.
You must be at least 13 years old. If you are under 18, you should have permission from a parent or guardian. You are responsible for keeping your account credentials secure and for everything that happens under your account.
Retracer is for learning. You agree not to:
We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these rules, without refund where a breach is serious or repeated.
SQL queries you write in the Visualizer Lab and any CSV files you upload remain yours. Queries execute inside your own browser and are not stored on our servers. You are responsible for making sure you have the right to upload any data you use.
All lesson content, course structure, written explanations, animations, the visual execution engine, sample datasets, branding and site design are the intellectual property of Retracer and are protected by copyright.
You may use them for your own personal learning. You may not reproduce, distribute, publish, teach from, or create derivative works from our content without written permission.
We currently offer substantial functionality free of charge. We may change what is included in the free tier at any time, including moving features behind a paid plan or introducing usage limits. We will give reasonable notice of significant changes where we can.
These terms apply once paid plans launch:
[REFUND POLICY PLACEHOLDER — to be finalised before paid plans launch. Suggested: a 7-day refund window on first-time subscriptions, with refunds processed to the original payment method within 5–7 working days.]
We aim to keep Retracer available and working, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access. The service is provided "as is". We may modify, suspend or discontinue any part of it, and we may perform maintenance that causes temporary downtime.
Retracer uses standard web browser storage mechanisms — including the Cache Storage API, LocalStorage and IndexedDB — to locally save open-source engine components (such as Pyodide WebAssembly binaries, JavaScript runtime engines and Python libraries). This technical caching is strictly functional, designed solely to reduce network bandwidth and accelerate engine startup times on return visits. This storage contains no personally identifiable information, performs no user tracking, and can be cleared by you at any time through your browser settings.
Our lessons are educational material, not professional advice. We work hard to be accurate, but we do not guarantee that content is free of errors or suitable for any particular purpose, exam, certification or job outcome. Verify anything critical against official documentation before relying on it in production systems.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Retracer and its operators are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for any loss of data, profits, revenue or business, arising from your use of or inability to use the service.
Where liability cannot be excluded, our total aggregate liability is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose, or ₹5,000, whichever is greater.
You may stop using Retracer and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you breach these terms, if required by law, or if we discontinue the service. Sections covering intellectual property, disclaimers and liability survive termination.
We may update these terms as the product develops. Material changes will be reflected in the date at the top of this page and, where appropriate, notified by email. Continuing to use the service after changes take effect means you accept the revised terms.
These terms are governed by the laws of India. Any dispute arising from them is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Mumbai, Maharashtra.
